Walk and Talk therapy - Walk, Talk, Breathe programme in Flintshire

Why Walk and Talk?
  • My Walk, Talk, Breathe programme combines three important things: mental, emotional and physical benefits.
  • Being outdoors in a neutral environment helps you to relax which in turn allows a little distance to be created between you and issues you are facing.
  • Exposure to the sights and sounds of nature tunes in the senses which helps us to unwind and calm anxious or stress related thoughts and symptoms.
  • Light exercise while exposed to fresh air and natural light leads to muscle groups loosening, improved digestion, better sleep and increased circulation bringing benefits to body, mind and soul.
  • Sessions give you the opportunity to regulate your breathing, release tension, stress, anxiety or symptoms of depression
  • Walk, Talk, Breathe allows you to clear the mind, gain insight and develop positive thought patterns.
  • It allows you to release pent-up thoughts and process them in confidence.

What if the sessions aren't for me?

Not everything is for everyone and not everything will work for everyone!

Here are some things to bear in mind:
  • Outdoors on public footpaths there is the risk of less privacy or seeing someone you know out and about or in the group (if a group session).
  • It is important to discuss any concerns beforehand and decide how to proceed in any given situation
  • It is also important to share any health concerns and any preferences so we can focus on the conversations to be had on the day with as little worry or distraction as possible.
What does it cost?

Group sessions: Each session £6. Subject to a minimum number of attendees.

Individual sessions: £30.00

Sessions will last around 1 hour per standard session times and rates.

How will the sessions be run?
  • Whether one-to-one or a small group, the focus is on therapeutic progress. They are not about the "walk" (although this has benefits).
  • Walk, Talk, Breathe sessions will encourage you to see the natural environment clearly and appreciate its benefits. They will incorporate therapeutic methods such as breathing, mindfulness and positive affirmations.
  • When in a group, the group leader will take it in turns to walk with every participant who so chooses to allow opportunities to "off-load", receive guidance or even simply chat.
  • Whether you attend alone or as part of a small group, you need only share what you feel like sharing as and when you feel comfortable.
  • Walk, Talk, Breathe will be incorporated into the schedule of other sessions
